This past weekend most of the ladies at the Church went on a girls only retreat. Amanda didn't go but that's because she just started yet another pre-requisite for nursing school and wasn't sure how much course work she'd have.
The guys at the Church, along with their children, decided it was a perfect opportunity to get together and bowl. Real live bowling, not even Wii bowling! Perhaps this was to be bonding time for the guys, more likely it was an excuse to get outside of the house so that there would be less mess to clean up afterwards! (Our friend Eric admitted that he ate take-out pizza and slept on the couch so as to have less housework to do before his wife got home)
Either way it was a good time.
The highlight of the excursion was the bumpers. Besides using them to aid in my score of 150 they were exciting because you could program the bumpers to appear for only certain individuals. So, parents could bowl bumper-free while kids could bowl with bumpers. (My group went all bumpers all the way)
I know this may be old news for you but remember I grew up on an island in Alaska. Auto bumpers are a novel luxury!
