Because of my extreme dislike for "hippie" names, Tom, for the last few years has been coming up with random hippie names for our future children. He does it just to make me cringe. About six months ago he came up with Fiesta Sunshine Crandall. I'm not sure why, but that one stuck. So, I guess until we find out differently we'll be refering to the little one as Fiesta.
We had an ultrasound on Thursday where we heard the heartbeat (just one) and saw a little dot on the screen. We were told we were lucky to see anything at that point as it was just over 6 weeks. I'd like to get Fiesta's first pic online, but without a scanner it's proving to be difficult.

That's right. Baby Crandall is on the way. He or she should be arriving around Feb 11th 2009.

More for Manila
Yesterday we did our after-Church grocery shopping. While I typically consider this as a major chore yesterday's trip was exciting.
First I had to dodge the sample provider who likes to talk about her 5:00 gin & tonic (the first time we went to this store I stopped for a sample and the lady kept chit-chatting with me even as Amanda walked off, I learned all about how smoking for 40 years was ok because it hadn't killed her yet and that a gin & tonic at 5:00 was a perfect destressor).
Second I had to keep trying not to run into people (we tried to run over the same lady about 4 different times in the store).
Third was that clean crisp $100 bill just laying there for me in the middle of the meats section. I'm always a little hesitant keeping found money but no-one was there to claim it, and while I didn't think to check in at the desk to see if anyone claimed to have lost it.
Most exciting though is that it's an extra $100 with which to purchase toys and clothes for the Philippines. Amanda is planning on going to some garage sales with our friend Becky this upcoming weekend while I'm sitting through the CFA L3 test, she can use the money to benefit the kids overseas. This even lessens my hesitancy in regards to keeping the money. We're not keeping it and who's to say that this isn't what God intended?
