Another Another One

In addition to my brother being in town we have a friend coming into town tomorrow. Four! Four Alaskans in one city! Oh the humanity!

My brother is coming into Chicago tonight. Three Alaskan's in one city? Can it be?

Who's stressing the honeybees? Is it you?

Oh no! Honeybees are disappearing. The "Colony Collapse Disorder" is in full swing. Poor pooh bear will not have any honey for dessert.

Spring in Alaska

I think it's funny every time I hear someone complaining that the winter here in Chicago just is dragging on and on and on and then I take a look back home and see what it's like there. I don't think Chicago has been -15F since I've been here! That being said, who's ready for summer and some sports!

Riley : "Tom is in the mood"

Matt : "For what?"

Riley : after a pause ... "For TomAmanda" (TomAmanda is Riley's name for Amanda)


and I swear that I'm innocent! I was out all day and had no time to steer Riley into that type of statement.

Refreshing

Had "coffee" today (actually I had hot chocolate as coffee is unpalatable to me) with an old pastor of mine from when I was a fish-out-of-water intern down here a few years back. It's nice to get back in touch with people and to catch up. I should make a more concerted effort in that regard.

What's the point? But it's funny!

Sometimes I wonder what the point it and I think "Does someone actually get paid for this?" This is one of those times. I can admit that it's fun to solve puzzles, but usually it's done on my off time and my life isn't defined by it. I guess it's kind of cool to solve a puzzle where the solution "is so complicated that its handwritten solution would cover the island of Manhattan" but it's mostly funny to me, especially when they admit "The calculation does not have any obvious practical applications" (at least currently).
