Resigned to Renting

As you may (or may not) know, we are still homeowners. Our townhouse in Chicago has yet to sell. We have had some showings, and positive feedback, but no buyers.

When we moved to Minnesota in Dec we decided to rent a place through a friend of a friend who allowed us to do a month-to-month rental. We figured this would be our best option, so that when we sold our place in Chicago we'd be able to immediately buy a place here (because we wouldn't be tied down with a lease).

But alas, the time has come to reconsider our living arrangements, and we've decided to move across town to be closer to work and school. Even though that means renting for now (and most likely signing a 1 year lease). Right now we drive over 60 miles a day from home to work and back again. After 6 months of this, it's starting to get old (and expensive). So, in 5 weeks, we get to once again pack all of our earthly belongings into a big truck and move across town.

We know God called us here. The difficult part is if God called us here, why is it so hard. It's like being a kid and not getting what you want, and your mom says, "Just because I said so, that's why." It doesn't explain anything and it just frustrates you even more.

It would be so much easier if what He wanted and what we wanted lined up a bit better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I know we are blessed to have the resources to support two houses, but I would much rather be using our resources to support things other than our mortgage company.

Oh well. Enough rambling for one day.
